Lynx is a
web browser without a graphical interface, so it is used from the
console. Instead of graphics, it displays the "ALT" tags ("Alternative
Description"), or, if those are not present, the image file name. Lynx
can also be configured to display these as links that are opened with an
external program.
Cookies
and
Image-Maps
are also supported, while tables are supported only in a limited way;
Java
and
JavaScript
are not supported at all.
