What Should I Do If My Box Cannot Be Freetzed?⚓︎
If something went wrong, do not panic. Work through the following points
calmly. Freetz can send a box into the void, but it should not destroy it
completely; at least no cases were known at the time of writing in which
Freetz actually destroyed a box.
Read the FAQs and Search Tickets⚓︎
First, browse the known error messages on the FAQ page and search the
open tickets.
Use the IPPF Search Function⚓︎
If the FAQs did not help, check whether the
IPPF search
IPPF einen
has a matching thread for the error. If nothing can be found there either,
continue with the next point.
Open a New Thread in IPPF⚓︎
When opening a new thread, keep these points in mind:
- Choose a meaningful subject and open the thread in the
IP-Phone-Forum
. - Download the
.configconfiguration file from Freetz-Linux and attach
it to the post. The FAQs also explain where and how to find this file. - Include the following in your post:
a.) FRITZ!Box model, for example 7170\
b.) Freetz version used, such as Freetz 2.0, stable branch, trunk, or revision\
c.) Which firmware or lab version did you want to use?\
d.) Which firmware was on the box before flashing?\
e.) Did an error message appear during the build? Post it with context,
not only one line.\
It is advisable to mark the errors in PuTTY and include the full content
as a text file or inside
error text
in the new thread. For
error output, follow the rule: too much is better than too little.
Note: avoid posting screenshots if possible.
Important: always attach the .config file to the new thread.
